Convergence Time towards Periodic Orbits in Discrete Dynamical Systems

We investigate the convergence towards periodic orbits in discrete dynamical systems. We examine the probability that a randomly chosen point converges to a particular neighborhood of a periodic orbit in a fixed number of iterations, and we use linearized equations to examine the evolution near that neighborhood. The underlying idea is that points of stable periodic orbit are associated with in...

Hamiltonian Dynamical Systems without Periodic Orbits

The present paper is a review of counterexamples to the “Hamiltonian Seifert conjecture” or, more generally, of examples of Hamiltonian systems having no periodic orbits on a compact energy level. We begin with the discussion of the “classical” and volume– preserving Seifert conjectures. Then the constructions of counterexamples to the Hamiltonian Seifert conjecture in dimensions greater than o...

On Periodic Orbits in Discrete-time Cascade Systems

Question. Does system (1.1) have periodic orbits when system (1.2) has periodic orbits? Recently, there have been a lot of researches in the literature on the periodicity of discrete-time dynamical systems [1, 3–8, 10, 11]. However, to the authors’ knowledge the above question has not received investigations, therefore in this paper we study the above question and obtain a fundamental result. O...

Krawczyk Method for Proving the Existence of Periodic Orbits of Infinite Dimensional Discrete Dynamical Systems

In this work we describe how to prove with computer assistance the existence of fixed points and periodic orbits for infinite dimensional discrete dynamical systems. The method is based on Krawczyk operator. As an example we prove the existence of three fixed points, one period–2 and one period–4 orbit for the Kot-Schaffer growth-dispersal model.

Periodic orbits in periodic discrete dynamics

5 We study the combinatorial structure of periodic orbits of nonautonomous difference 6 equations xn+1 = fn(xn) in a periodically fluctuating environment. We define the 7 Γ-set to be the set of minimal periods that are not multiples of the phase period. We 8 show that when the functions fn are rational functions, the Γ-set is a finite set. In 9 particular, we investigate several mathematical mo...
